Child-turned-teen bedroom redesign
Mia was frustrated with her bedroom's lack of storage & identity
With no organisation system in place she found it hard to keep it tidy, & took no pride in the space
Before: Single bed with no storage & stark window blind
Before: No dedicated area for make-up or hair. Ineffective cube storage
Before: Cables & clutter were hard to keep on top of
Before: Avoided using the room for homework due to the chaos
After: Built new double bed with storage beneath. Voiles soften the window
After: Drawers repositioned & focal point created with existing accessories
After: New double wardrobe & dressing table with organised storage within
After: A cohesive colour scheme of taupe & blush unifies all elements
Office renovation into guest annexe bedroom suite
An unused garage conversion home office had become a dumping ground
Before: Built in desks & cupboards, vertical blinds & carpet tiles made a stark & cold office
Before: The office was accessed through the garage. Small toilet existed off the utility
During: Dividing wall moved back & insulation added to all walls
During: Toilet door blocked off & floor level raised to create an ensuite accessible from the new bedroom
After: Wall sconces, contrasting paint & a reupholstered headboard create a cosy sleeping area for guests
After: A new console table decorated with the client's existing accessories creates a focal point
After: A new shower installed with feature tiles and recessed lighting in niche to add a luxury feel
After: Existing cloakroom suite reused to save costs, with fluted tiles installed & arched mirror echoing the bedroom mirror
Delapidated property to modern rental home
Bought with a view to renting it out, this two bedroom house needed a full renovation on a budget
Before: Kitchen needed a full replacement & rethink
Before: Dated decor & a cold lean-to extension made the living area dark & closed in
Before: Large water tank cupboard only allowed for a tiny shower
Before: Built in storage reduced the size & usability of the bedrooms
After: A new kitchen in soft neutrals creates a modern cottage feel
After: Removing the lean-to & adding bifold doors, bright walls & hard flooring creates a light, bright & open space
After: New heating system allows for removal of the water tank. Now a spacious bathroom with shower bath, vanity sink & modern radiator
After: Built in cupboards removed to give a more versatile space, with new windows in keeping with the cottage style on the neighbouring houses
Living room wall art rearrangement
This small project illustrates the impact of maximising items the client already owns
Before: Large empty wall above the sitting area
Before: Disproportioned artwork
During: All pictures removed, walls filled & repainted
During: Artwork & photos from around the house collected together to see how best to rearrange
After: Arranged in a rectangle; artwork with a common theme fills the empty space above the sofa
After: A beautiful landscape image moved from elsewhere in the room complements the hearth in both colour & size, drawing the eye to the room's focal point
After: Another relocated image continues the landscape theme, with the frame and painting coordinating with a display of the client's Cornishware
After: A picture ledge is incorporated at the client's request to include a collection of family photos
